1st Homemade Meal...I'm baaaaackk!!

Guess what's cookin'?!

...good ol' Thai Chicken Basil. If you need some spice in your life combined with sweetness, this sure is a quick fix.

INGREDIENTS:

olive oil
1 1/2 lb ground chicken
3 cloves garlic
2 chili serrano
1 c mushrooms
1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoon oyster sauce
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 packages of fresh basil

Heat the oil in a large saucepan or wok at high heat. Stir in the chopped garlic and cook until it is golden brown. Add the Thai chili pepper and stir well.

Add the ground chicken and cook it just halfway done. Reduce the heat to medium and add the mushrooms, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, soy sauce. Mix well.

When all the ingredients are cooked, add Thai holy basil. Mix well and season to taste with salt. Serve over steamed jasmine rice.

For a healthier tip (if you're on a diet and "trying" to cut down on rice like everyone else for 2010), pair this with lettuce and you then have thai chicken basil wraps!
