S'more Melt

The bf and I ventured out for more food after dinner (yes, AFTER) to check out the food trucks near our place. As always, I was craving something sweet.

Out of all the food trucks, the Grilled Cheese truck was the most crackin'. People were lined up ready to get their crazy grilled cheese concoction sandwiches for dinner.  We ordered the mac and cheese with ribs sandwich  and the s'more melt, which caught my eye because it has nutella in it (told you I'm addicted!) It was sooo good that I wanted to buy another one just to have for later haha...fat girl status.
Drooool

The recipe is simple with just 4 ingredients:
Brioche bread
marshmallow cream
nutella
honey graham cracker crumbs

Delicious!

Check them out: The Grilled Cheese Truck Their motto is "chef driven grilled cheese...'cause that's how we roll."

I wonder how much people pay for a food truck.  I want one... you can only imagine what kind of goodies I would have in my truck!

Nutella Twix Bar

Taken from Sweet Savory Life
Let me guess... you're thinking, Nutella Twix Bar?!!  Where can I get some?  I was thinking the same thing. Sorry, but these bad boys are homemade.

Savory Sweet Life is a new blog I came across today.  As I was reading her posts, I immediately stop at this one for 3 main reasons:
1.) I love dark chocolate., especially because I believe the saying, "A dark chocolate a day keeps the doctor away." =D  It's good for you (just not in large amounts)
2.) Anything with the word 'nutella' in it. . .I'm sold
3.) Twix is one of my favorite candy bars

so what's not to love?

I pretty much read food blogs daily, and there's always that ONE [crazy] recipe which stands out from the others.  This is one of them, and definitely a sweet keeper.

Here's her recipe:

Ingredients
Taken from Sweet Savory Life
  • 24 – square caramel candies, cut in half
  • 24 – 4 inch honey-wheat pretzel sticks like Rold Gold or Trader Joes
  • 1/3 cup Nutella
  • 2/3 cup dark chocolate chips or your favorite type of chocolate
  • optional: sea salt
Instructions
  1. Place caramel halves on a plate in a single layer. Microwave the caramels for 8 seconds, just until they are pliable but still firm. With two pretzels side by side in the palm on the hand, line four caramel halves along the pretzel from one end to another. Gently pushed the caramels down using a thumb and index finger to bind the caramel to the pretzels. Repeat this with all the pretzels and caramels. Spoon the Nutella into a sandwich bag and cut the tip off. Pipe a pea sized bead of Nutella on the non caramel side of the pretzels. Carefully spread the Nutella across the top surface with the back side of a utensil handle. Place chocolate chips in a microwave safe container and microwave for 1 minute and stir until smooth. If necessary, microwave for an additional 30 seconds to get the chocolate smooth. Place the pretzel (Nutella side up) on a fork and carefully dip the pretzels in the chocolate rocking the pretzels side to side to get the pretzel bars completely coated. Lift the bar from the chocolate and allow any excess chocolate to drip off. Place bars on a plate or board lined with parchment paper. Place the board in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or the freezer for 10 minutes to help harden the chocolate coating.
Notes
If you prefer a more salted chocolate caramel candy bar, sprinkle a little bit of sea salt along the top of each chocolate bar after dipping them in chocolate and before placing them in the refrigerator to set.

Nutella Banana Wontons

A couple weeks ago, Simon and Ivy visited and sure enough, we ventured out to do what we all love...GRUB. Since I had to go to the Ninja market (hahaha no offense folks) on Sawtelle, we decided to check out a couple...more like a FEW food trucks. We had kbbq tacos, shrimp scampi (still doesn't compare to Giovanni's in HI), and lo and behold nutella banana wontons and s'more wontons, which were hella good.

When something is hella good, as you can see, its a must for me to remake it. Ok, I can't make EVERYTHING thats hella good, but you get the picture. If I can, I will. If I think I can't, I'll still try and accept the outcome. Thank goodness these wontons where easy peezy, so I made them at Mark & My's apt for our dessert. They loved it. =)

INGREDIENTS

Canola oil
nutella
banana
wonton wrappers
powdered sugar
cinnamon

...the list can go on. Be creative!
